Remedy:
Consumers should immediately stop using the biometric feature of the recalled safe, remove the batteries from the safe, and only use the key when storing firearms.

 Steps to Receive a Repair Kit or Replacement Safe:

 

Fill out the recall form and we will contact you.

 

To confirm your safe is part of the recall, you will be required to send a photo of your unit, including the serial number sticker on the front of your unit.

 

After confirming the above, you will receive a free repair kit.

The repair only takes about 3-7 minutes.

If you prefer, you can receive a replacement safe.

 

To receive a replacement safe, you will be required to disable the biometric reader by puncturing the reader using a screwdriver and emailing a photo of the disabled reader to us at support@bbrkin.com.

  1. To disable the biometric reader, follow these instructions:

Wear Safety glasses

Puncture the reader by hitting the reader with a screwdriver

Strike the screwdriver with a hammer

  1. Once we receive the photo of the disabled safe, we will send you an equivalent Biometric Safe.
  2. Dispose of your disabled safe in your trash. 

Q: Why is the firm conducting this recall?

A: The safes contain a biometric reader that allows unpaired fingerprints to open the safe until a fingerprint is programmed, allowing unauthorized persons, including children, to access hazardous contents, including firearms.

  

Q: How is the firm conducting this recall?

A: We are removing the recalled products from stores and asking consumers to disable and dispose of their current unit, we will send a new program module to the customer, and the customer can replace the installation to fix the security vulnerability, or we will provide a new biometric safe.

Q: How do I participate in the recall?

Q: What is the problem with my biometric Safe?

A: The safes contain a biometric module that allows unpaired fingerprints to open the safe until a fingerprint is programmed, allowing unauthorized persons, including children, to access hazardous contents, including firearms.  

 

Q: I no longer have the receipt for the product. Can I still return it?

A: You do not need a receipt. Provide us with the series number of your safe and we can begin the process with you.

Q: Will I receive a refund for the product?

A: No, we will send a new program module to you, you can replace the installation to fix the security vulnerability, or we will provide a new biometric safe that has been programmed to eliminate the issue as described in the recall.

  

Q: How long will it take for me to receive my repair kit?

A: It usually takes 1 week to send you the repair kit (program module) and 1-2 weeks to send the replacement safe. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause, and we assure you that we are working as quickly as possible to replace your product.  

 

Q: Can I keep using my safe until then?

A: You should stop using the biometric reader immediately and remove the batteries from the safe, and use the key to open the safe.

 

Q: What if I do not feel comfortable doing my own repair? What are my options?

A: If you do not feel comfortable doing the repair, you can register for a replacement safe. Consumers will be asked to disable the biometric reader and email a photo of the disabled biometric reader to support@bbrkin.com in order to receive a replacement safe.
